Day 310: O2

In 2oo6, when participating in a competition for the city of Cascais, we already had a very advanced proposal when we visited the site (by the first time). During the visit, we immediately saw that there was something wrong about our proposal for that place. Result: “lost” time that we needed to reformulate. Today, only with few days of work on this new competition, during the visit to the site, we realized that we are on the right way according to what we aim to propose. We will try hard to go “that way”.

The visit to the South also served to visit a group of friendly colleagues and a friend, in all we were 5 at the table; hopefully we didn’t spoke all the time about architecture (but almost…). Fortunately, this group breathes (in architecture) without the support of oxygen tanks, we hope they continue that way.

At the entry of the colleague’s studio there was a sustainable piece of design, it was a mini freight elevator. Certainly the project of this piece didn’t need to include arrows with a gradient form red to blue. Amazing. As one went up the stairs, it smelt more and more to blackberries…
