Há quem diga que um arquiteto só vive da arquitetura a partir dos 40 anos; por sua vez, há quem diga que um arquiteto só tem um verdadeiro atelier quando tem uma secretária. Em relação a esta última hipótese, colocando o humor de parte, percebe-se haver alguma lógica na questão: se tem secretária, é porque tem dinheiro para lhe poder pagar um ordenado, se tem dinheiro para um ordenado, é porque nem tudo corre mal. Naturalmente não se podem ler as coisas assim tão literais, mas, como referido há pouco, tem a sua lógica.

A história da secretária, nada tem a ver com a questão que se prende neste post, foi só para “humorar a coisa”; tem sim a ver, a questão dos 40 anos. Porquê 40 anos? Pelo facto de, só aos 40 anos é que muitos arquitetos já têm (alguma) obra construída, e, pela palavra passa palavra, é só (d)aí que se proporciona uma forte variável de angariação de novos projetos/trabalhos.

Hoje, pela 2ª vez no nosso percurso (ver aqui e aqui a 1ª), fomos contactados por um outro (já nosso) cliente para conversarmos sobre um (outro seu) projeto novo. A ver se se torna pertinente a adjudicação do mesmo.

Relembrando os tempos de criança, destes “autocolantes” não nos cansamos de ter repetidos.

Some might say an architect only is able to live from architecture from the age of 40; on the other hand, some might say that an architect only has a real studio when he has a secretary. Regarding this last hypothesis, and taking away the humor, one realizes that there is some logic on it: if you have a secretary, that’s because you have enough money to pay her a salary; if you can afford paying a salary, that’s because things are not that bad. Of course that’s not linear, but as mentioned earlier, it has some logic.

The story of the secretary has nothing to do with the matter of this post, it was just to “lighten the mood”; but it has to do with the matter of the 4o years. Why 40 years? Because of the fact that only at the age of 40 many architects have already built (some) work, and through the word of mouth, we are able to get a strong possibility of having new projects/works.

Today it was the second time in our career (see here and here the first), that we were contacted by another (former) client to discuss another new project (from him). Let’s see if we are able to get this commission.

Remembering when we were a child, we don’t mind having these “stickers” repeated.
