Apartment 1 in Braga
Concepts and project strategies:
1- the alteration from a common 3 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom;
2- the elimination of the kitchen’s wall, enabling the aperture of a big open space;
3- through the versatile use of 4 moving doors, we explore a spacial flexibility with:
a. the two bedrooms without a bathroom;
b. the smaller bedroom with bathroom and the bigger without one;
c. the inverse of the last point;
d. the two bedrooms with bathroom;
e. the office as an area of enlargement of the biggest bedroom;
f. the office as an area of enlargement of the social zone;
4- the abstraction and minimalism as concepts are explored through:
a. the use of mdf wood panels that integrate doors and shelters (painted in matte white), is going to clarify and emphasize the vertical planes, with this strategy it reinforces the depth of field;
b. the finishing of the wooden floor painted in a medium-dark grey (colour of the window frames);
c. the dimension of the new furniture that respects the dimension of the interior core;
d. the autonomous carpets with 3.51m.
