Section - refurbishment of a house in Boavista, Oporto, Portugal (project 2006)

Quase terminada a maquete pelos dois colaboradores, coube à coordenação tentar dispor (bem) o programa em esquemas; estes esquemas representam as plantas do edifício. Ao todo, há que organizar e relacionar entre si 12 núcleos programáticos (ex. núcleo desportivo, de serviços, etc.). Na estratégia que estamos a adotar (a desejada), para resolver esta questão espera-nos uma tarefa árdua, mas, resolvendo-a de forma salutar, teremos com certeza um trunfo muito forte na nossa proposta.

A meio da tarde recebemos um telefonema de um cliente do atelier. O âmbito do telefonema surge da necessidade deste cliente fazer ou não uma remodelação na sua casa. Segundo as suas palavras, ele sente a necessidade de um parecer (de arquiteto) no sentido de perceber a pertinência de realizar “apenas uma pintura” ou um projeto “mais completo”.

Almost finished the model by the two collaborators, the coordination tried to (well) organize the program schemes; these schemes represent the building plans. In all, we have to organize and relate 12 programmatic groups (for example sports, services, etc.). In the strategy we are adopting (the desired one), in order to resolve this issue, we have to work hard, but if we make it, we will surely have a strong trump in our proposal.

Mid afternoon we received a phone call from a client of the studio. The purpose of this phone call urges from the client needs of making or not a refurbishment in his house. According to his words, he feels the need for an opinion (from an architect), in order to understand the relevance to make “just a painting” or a “more complete” project.
